and pointed it to -40dB and lower, which just depends on how much
attenuation I'll end up needing I suppose - could be a non-issue. I'll give
one a try and see what happens.

Shifting a mix would sound more obvious with that much of a shift.
I wouldn't mix time shifted with newly recorded material on the same track
(e.g. if you have partial lead vocals - track them all later, don't shift
some, and add more later).
And... a ditto to what David said. N3's time warp is a big time saver and
way easier than time compressing offline.
