I just finished an album of Bach Minuets for my friend yesterday and it came
out fantastic. 1 mono audio track for narration, 1 stereo audio track for
my motif keyboard to play through and 2 midi tracks. The first midi track
is called tempo 120 and the 2nd is called tempo 90.
We recorded each song in midi, on the first midi track then copied the event
(song) to make a left hand part. Using the mute tool we muted the midi notes
to get a left part (right if it was easier). Then copied that midi event
again to make a right (left if we did right earlier) hand part. On the
"right" hand part we zoomed all the way out and highlighted everything with
the mute tool and it flipped the left hand to mute and unmuted the right
hand so now I had a right hand part. All three of these events (song,
left, right) are on the same track.
On the 2nd midi track I copied all three events so they followed the previous
three. All songs ended up on the tempo120 and tempo90 track. Then using
the oh so wonderful MEAP, I exported voice, and tempo120 at the tempo of
120 (which is what they were recorded at) using the name tracks with BAR
number option. Then I used meap to export the tempo90 track at tempo 90
(changed transport bar) with BAR number option. Now I have all these files
exported with bar numbers. I load them into Wavelab as a montage or just
burn em to CD. Worked killer. Now the piano students have nice voice intros
to each song, and the songs at two tempos with both left and right hands.
Thanks Cubase !!!
