Ok, i know i said it sucks but really it does.... hehe
I hope i never hear the album again. There's not one song
I even remotely liked enough to listen to again. (/me turns up Johnny and
Edgar Winter / They only come out at night).
01 Chinese Democracy.mp3
1 minute of wasted time for ambient effect
Alice Cooper sound but not as good, pretty good guitar sound though.
Good vocals and guitar solo
02 Shackler's Revenge.mp3
sounds like a bad movie soundtrack ripoff intro
guitar is totally annoying
lift/pre-chorus is more conventional
chorus is skanky vocal
basic headbanger guitar with obligatory sol
03 Better.mp3
sounds like a britney spears crap song intro
opens into a straight ahead rocker with typical crappy vocals
then goes to headbanger break and back to basic rocking
key change at 2:24 that makes NO musical sense
back to headbanger mode ( at least he's not singing)
damn, he started screaming again.....really bad too
really bad splice at 3:25
back to straight ahead rock with actually decent harmonies till he sings
again
ends like some gay britney spears song
04 Street of Dreams.mp3
pretty ballad that gets ruined by his vocal
his vocal is SO bad that I can't think of any song I've ever heard this
bad
replace the vocal with Ann Wilson and you have a nice song with orchestration
even
though the guitar is very boring and could use making some musical statements
05 If The World.mp3
sounds like a movie soundtrack song and the vocal is probably the best on
the album
but it sounds like a GIRL ! hahaha The vocal bends are pretty bad though.
06 There Was A Time.mp3
god this intro sucks and it doesn't get much better
I went and played some RUSH YYZ and realized how REALLY bad this is. haha
Nice wah guitar solo though that builds nicely till he sings and ruins it.
07 Catcher In The Rye.mp3
Sounds like an Aerosmith / Bon Jovi song. Straight ahead medium tempo rocker.
Nice key change. Unfortunately the sections of the song don't really fit
together.
The song was so boring to me I tuned it out and forgot it was playing.
Is there a story? What the hell is it about ? Who cares !
Plenty of guitar drivel noodling at the end.

intro sounds like your stereo broke. Cool guitar intro goes into
speed metal mode has some wicked guitar chops but the vocals suck as usual.

pink floydish wanna be song but very simple and horrid vocals as usual.
very nice guitar solo
Instead, go play Pink Floyd Animals

Sounds like classic GnR. If you like them, you'll love this.
Great drum sound.

starts off like royalty, turns to movie soundtrack drum machine and
is very boring and then gets ruined with Martin Luther King narration
Who the hell wants to hear a narration on an album you will listen to
over and over ?

How can anyone like these vocals? It's just beyond me. Let Michael Jackson
sing it and show you what this song could be.

god i hate those cheesy drum machine sounds.
sorry, i'm not big on orchestration in rock music except for maybe
Kiss in Australia DVD. That one rocked.
