My macbook pro battery melted last week. I mean it physically melted..
I phoned up apple and they said that since I didn't have applecare, and as the MBP batteries
were not part of the battery recall, it wouldn't be covered.
After a few choice "gentle and persuasive" words on my part to help illustrate my feelings toward
that policy, they had a new one at my door in 2 days and took the melted one back.

I always try to find out where they live. Sometimes first and last names are
listed on the company answering machine directory lists because they are too
damn cheap to hire anyone to answer the phone. It's pretty easy to go to the
net and get their address and phone. It's amazing the response you get when
you say to them, "well, since your company won't fix it for free, can you
handle this personally if I just send it to your place at 4524 Maple Drive?"

I tried to personally visit Steve but he's busy doing a OS X vs. Windows
demonstration and is surrounded by the impenetrable security of Windows Vista.
