r looking
getting into the whole package, from shooting to editing;
because it's unlikely that a local production house that has
shooters will be willing to turn over part of their billing to
you for editing - unless it's under circumstances wherein they
might be jammed up with a little too much work from time to
time & they could job something out to you.

If it's the spot side of things you're thinking about, you
might check with a few local ad agencies to see what they're
paying for video work & see if it'd even be worth your time to
get into that area... that field is getting almost like audio
production, wherein there's

>>Hello all. My dad is a long time paris user, it's about time to do a
computer upgrade. We have been trying out the XP drivers for a bit now and
we're pretty confident that they work well on his single CPU / single core
setup.

So, my main question is: Who out there is running Paris on multiple
processors? Are the XP drivers stable on SMP? Is setting up an SMP system
worth the added expense in terms of native plugin count / overall
performance? I know that multicore cpu's are becoming more common now and
show up to XP as two CPU's, but I'm talking about actual dual processor
machines (for instance two hyperthreading p4's or dual core opterons).
Sorry if this has been discussed a lot of times, my newsgroup client is only
pulling up 300 posts and all searches I've done on the web - based news
reader have turned up nothing about multiple cpu wintel setups.

Nathanit's the default path of the subsystem installer. Make sure that's where the
Paris app resides. If you hvae version 3, it most likely is. If you

my PARIS system.=20

We can import files fine (example - unedited files like continuous =
drum tracks)=20

However, looking through the Cubase manual, I have not seen the PARIS =
equivalent to "Rendering a Track" so I can import small sections such as =
overdubs, etc at a zero start time.

What are the steps in Cubase SX to do this?

Many thanks!
