Wow, that's sad. I loved his music--"Only Visiting This Planet" blew me away
when I first heard it. He lived near Salem, OR for awhile, and he would occasionally
show up unannounced at his friend's concerts and sit in for a few.

Well, i guess more happy/sad than sad, given his circumstances.

He was quite a guy. I used to promote Concerts in the 70's
and actually was scared to death of him when we had him in.
Looking back, I see him much differently now.

A friend is doing a tribute on his radio show right now.

I did my first show as a 'pro' sound engineer for him here in Australia when
I was 15. He was incredible. Those records were very cool.
