I've been helping a guy set up a studio today around an 002. He's
interfacing it with a Macbook with a core duo CPU. this is a very cool
laptop, but I was surprised at how much the buffers needed to be bumped just
to play back small projects. The Mac was choking on 12 track counts with
very few plugins at 512k buffers. Bumping the buffers to 1024k cleared
things right up. I was certainly expecting more from this. OTOH, the Digi
002 did sound very good. This guy is a drop dead incredible musician so
maybe that had something to do with it.
