If you don't have the Sarahtonin "Wayward" CD, here's an opportunity to buy
one and do some good for someone besides me.
Guitarist/songwriter Duane Jarvis (some of you Portland folks may know) was
something of a local star in the thriving Portland original music scene of
the '80s. He subsequently moved to Nashville and worked with some famous
people, like John Prine, Lucinda Williams, Frank Black, Dwight Yoakum, and
others, even a stint with the Divinyls.
Anyway, Duane's been diagnosed with cancer, so some of his friends have
organized a benefit concert here in Portland at the Wonder Ballroom (nice
place) this thursday. They're calling it HOME (help offset medical
expenses) for Duane Jarvis, because it's kind of a homecoming/reunion show.
Here's the 'ficial website http://homeforduanejarvis.com/
Duane's MySpace page is http://www.myspace.com/DuaneJarvis
I'm getting a $30 ticket, but I can't really make it to the concert/party
due to work. I have, however, put an announcement on the "Wayward" page of
our website that any CD sales between now and labor day will be donated to
Duane's medical fund. www.sarahtonin.com/wayward.htm or
www.cdbaby.com/Sarahtonin or iTunes.
Duane's a real nice feller, so I wanna help him through this rough time if I
can.
That is all. As you were.
Thanks,
Sarah Jane
