Ok guys I am at wits end with this 300.00 dollar rolling pin of a PPA (POS)
mic.
I have spoken to John at peluso as far as doing the mods to it,
Putting the 67 capsule, recapping, and new tranny.
I have searched many of your old posts regarding Peluso, I am wondering if
after a year or so, you are all still happy with them.

Actually, I am deciding if I should go with the 67 or 47 cap, I am leaning
to the 47. Is the 47 super dark?

My only experience with Peluso is with one of their K-67-type
capsules, which I put in my M-147... VAST improvement over the
original one for that mic, IMO. Really opened up the high end -
not that it's what I would call a really bright mic now, like
the super-sheen of a Blueberry or the peaky-bright C-1, but it
definitely has more character & airiness up top. Dunno how it
would work in your rolling pin, but for a buck & half or
thereabouts, it's probably worth a try.
Look at it this way, if you still don't like that mic after
switching out the capsules, you can always put the original
capsule back in it, then sell the mic or trade it for something
& keep the Peluso capsule around to experiment with in other
mics that you might come across.
BTW, I find that mics you don't like serve a much better
purpose as a doorstop as opposed to a rolling pin. They can
suffer much more abuse that way (being occasionally kicked,
etc.), which serves to show your disdain for said mic in a more
appropriate manner than as a rolling pin would... I mean, how
often do you bake, really? :)

Well, the thing is this mic did not sound bad for the money,, but 3 mics
later, and they allmake this crakling noise, and are pretty noisy as well.
I have heard mixed things about Peluso, some say he just resells chinese
capsules. But many like you say they hear a greater mount fo detail and less
of that harsh zing thing.
I think I'll do it, at least he'll make the noise go away.

I've got Peluso capsules in my Mojave mics. I think they were an improvement
over the original Marshall capsules.

Yeah, I tlaked to him for quite a while, I am trying out the 47 capsule,
If it comes out nicely, I'll try the 67 next, I would love a C12 around too!

Well, he should have the mic by now.
I too am anxious to hear how he does.
I opted for the 34mm u47 style, I do hope he can get it to fit.
He will also be recapping and adding a cinemag tranny.
I'll keep you posted, it should be another week or so.,
