Hi all,
This is my first time posting to this site, which I just found. Looks great.
I have used Paris since 1998, and Paris Pro since 2001. I use it on a PC w/ Windows 98 and it has ALWAYS worked exceptionally well.
I just finished mixing my new cd (a double!) and was messing around with some remixes, when POP, the whole computer just powered down.
I restarted it (several times) and when I tried opening up Paris I got the "Unhandled Exception 000005: address" with a file name.
I went online and saw a fix, which had me de-install Paris, which I did. Of course, when I went to re-install it, I realized that I hadn't seen the disc in years.
My question is - what next? Is there a place I can find another copy of Paris Pro? Or should I move over to the ProTools world?
I've considered that, but really LOVE Paris and know it like the back of my hand.
Appreciate your input.
Tom

PARIS 2.2 software is available at that link and it's free. PARIS 3.0 is $100 (I believe - I paid for mine years ago) [edited eight months later to add: that's because I bought it used as a license transfer - I had no idea at that time that it could possibly be $295 new!]; you download and install it and that starts a seven day trial period. Within that period (I'd do it at the beginning to avoid it expiring before you get an authorization), you receive a challenge code which you email to Intelligent Devices along with payment and receive an authorization key in return.
You don't have to go with 3.0, some people haven't. But it does have some very cool features.

That's right. The original, free XP drivers do work, and lots of folks have used them for the last five years continuously by working within their limitations, and the same could be said for PARIS 2.2.
But to get the most out of your PARIS rig, IMHO buying PARIS 3.0 ($100) and Mike's drivers ($50) is definitely the way to go. The drivers you saw advertised on ebay were the same ones available at Mike's link (:: mikeaudet :: at the top of this page).
