Hey guys, can anyone help me with this issue? I have a MEC with one 8in card
and a 442 hooked up to two EDS-1000 cards. I am getting signals to all my
inputs on both units. My MEC inputs are assigned to Submix A and my 442
are assigned to submix B. I can record on the MEC all channels but I can
not get the 442 to receive a signal in the software. I see the signal coming
through on the 442 hardware but it will not come through on the Mix B section.
Can anyone help me get this going?
Thanks,
John Cookman

If my recollection is accurate, EDS1000 and EDS 1000x are the same card, the
"x" just indicated cards that were sold with crossover cables (the ribbon
connectors that connect the EDS cards inside the computer); the ones without
FX daughterboards are EDS500 cards.
How are your ribbon connections between the cards, all solid? No bent or
oxidized pins etc?

I think it is a 75 ohm cable. If the mec is connectd to card A, go from
the Mec word CLock out to the 442 WC in (at least in my mind. Haven't
had Paris out for a couple months)
:-)

This is going to be the problem. Gotta have that word clock bro. Go from
word clock out of whatever you have on card A (MEC, 442) into the word clock
in of whatever you have on card B (MEC, 442).

It should work fine without termination, but if you want to, you can put
a 75 Ohm terminator at the output of the last device.

Glad you got it. Termination..... well, I've never really noticed any
difference with or without and I've tried both. If it makes you feel better,
slap a 75 ohm termination on the output of the last unit in the chain (card
B interface in this instance).
