Hello all,

sorry to post possibly simple questions, but I'm a bit confused,

Can Paris 2.1 record in 24 bit wav files?

Currently I can only record and export 16 bit wav files or 24 bit PAF files,

do I need a better driver? (ie. Mike's driver)
or do I need Paris 3.0?

I guess by the sound of it I should wait for Mike's new Driver that does 64 bit?

Thanks for your help,

Tom

PARIS itself only does 24bit in PAF and will export WAV at 16. You can though open up a PAF file in wavelab and convert to 24 bit wav if you really need it or if you export via OMF it will create a 24bit wav files.

Hmmm - I can export 24 bit wavs (Audio>Functions>Export stereo file)

But if there's any confusion, certainly 24 bit PAFs converted in Reaper, Wavelab etc will be safe.

Also - the "64 bit driver" Mike is working on refers to computing horsepower, not audio resolution. 32 and 64 bit operating systems mean more computational crunching. Audio is still at 24 bit depth resolution (or 16 bit depending on your settings).

yep....and that way as well... I was just thinking about a disk bounce at the time that I think does 16bit if you select to save as wave there Wink Forgot about that function in the audio window!
