I used to have some nice axes. My dad and I used to go to the pawnshops on
Elm St. in Dallas in the mid 60's and buy stuff for $100.00-$300.00 that
would sell for $20k nowadays. I had 4 x '56-'60 era strats *mint*, a Fender
Esquire, a Jaguar, a Gretch Jet Firebird, two country Gentlemen, a
Tennessean, a Ricky 330 12 string, a Les Paul Custom (black w/triple
humbuckers), a Les Paul Standard (which I actually liked better than the
Custom) and a Barney Kessel.
They are all gone now because I got out of the music business and sold them
thinking I would never have any use for them. By 1978 they were all gone. I
was young and stupid and these instruments now haunt my dreams and torment
me.

Yeoww!
I played one guitar for 20 years, but sold more bitchin' old cars
than I can bear to remember, so I know how you feel.
Some consolation is that the best guitars ever made are being
made right now by people like Collings, Tom Anderson, Grosh,
McInturff and dozens more. And you can get just the neck size and
shape you want, pickups, colors, you name it.
Now I have 11 guitars and feel pretty silly about it most of the time.
