Just wondering what model of pc or which motherboard you guys are using with
Paris Pro 3 and XP, and have it running completely stable? For example:
HP, Dell, Gateway or Compaq.
Asus, Abit Gigabyte motherboards
Pentium 4, Celeron, Athlon, Duron, etc..

Also, if you don't know specifics, how old is it?

Well, good luck finding it but myself and a few other here are using an Asus
A7s333... some other have used the A7v333 in the past with good luck also.
I'm relatively sure you can get a newer mobo/cpu combo that'll work, but of
the new crop I pretty much just don't see anything with more than 3 PCI
slots anyway.

Hope this finds itself useful to you,
AA

any good mobo like an asus or gigabyte (see dj's thread) or such will do.

i've tried to stay away from the ones with the onboard stuff built-in,
although I had good times with the supermicro with the onboard adaptec scsi.
....now there's one you don't see alot...Supermicro..(or scsi....lol) but
there damn fine mobos...they sometimes need a massage from the swedish
prime-minister in terms of the bios ala dj's recent offerings....

I recently aquired 3 of their quad xeon super-servers via ebay and
we're gonna put one of them in service in the audio dept...uh, this
weekend I think...hmmm..my guru has the Big C and we're moving rather
slowly for a while around here (and the swedish fella's been a bit of a
pill about the ol' bios retrograde...lol) ...but hopefully we'll get'm
up this weekend....

unfortunatly paris isn't getting one....what with the multi-proc
issues....dag nabit....can you imagine paris on an 8g/ram 64bit/quad
xeon?..holly heck!.....but nuendo's gettin' one so I'll finally be able
to run everything I need outa that box....but I digress.....

ASUS A7V8X works great with Paris.

Boy, it seems that all you guys are using slightly older mb's (couple of
years). We switched from an Abit AN8 to a Asus A8V-E, with no luck working
Paris. However, we chose the Athlon 64 X2 3800+ dual core. Unfortunately,
we didn't know Paris doesn't like dual core cpu's. This really bites,
because it is really fast.

Yeah, using an ASUS A7S333 here. Super stable. I did a cubase build for a
friend using a Gigabyte K8NS ultra and loaded Paris on that jus to see...it
seemed real stable and fast also.

I just got a Gigabyte K8NS ultra in here yesterday. I was going to use it
for my Cubase DAW if the build using the K8V-Deluxe went badly. Now that
I've got the K8V native DAW properly configured and it is flying along, I'm
wondering if I'm up to building and configuing another native DAW any time
soon. Unless I feel I have need of this board I may just hold it in the
wings in case, for some reason I want to upgrade my Paris DAW or build
another one. I think it would be fun to sync two Paris systems together
using smpte and use one for processing drums. I think I recall Brian T
saying something about using two Steiny Midex units, one sending smpte to
the other, and it being very close to sample accurate

hehehe.........but then........WTF would I do with my native DAW???.......oh
yeah........Ivory!!!!!
