Hi Mike !
You are talking for lower latencies in Paris driver...
There is a vst plugin , forget the name right now, that acts as as bus insert
across submixes for vst.
The only way that this would work realtime without chopped audio was if we
put edstransfer 8,8 or even 8,16.
So this edstransfer thing maybe can be fixed by you noting that.
I have read that this edstransfer value make eds cards work harder thus increasing
the temperature and eventually burn out more easily the cards.
Please look at it because this plugin was a godsend for Paris and could help
in putting a vst reverb plugin across all submixes !!
Regards and Happy New Year

Hi Dimitrios,

Thanks for this post. Can you remember who said that the transfer settings
could harm the eds cards? From what I gather, the chip that handles DMA
is the same chip that processes audio. It should be able to handle working
full out just the same as the other eds chips can.

I'm very interested in investigating this.

All the best,

Mike

Hi,
This has been said by ...relli this Paris guy ,don't remember his name.
I have had two eds cards not working at the time I was using the EDS transfer
8,16 option ...
Maybe that was not related or maybe was it ??
There is the open senderella buss vst plugin which works at 0 latency when
you use the edstransfer 8,8 and 8,16.
You can have realtime vst send across submixes and receive on any channel.
So you can mix as many audio tracks and sum them to a specific paris audio
track.
This way you can compress all drumtracks with a vst plugin and even across
submixes.
You can also use a DX reverb ,stereo, and send any Paris audio track from
any submix to this reverb...
I was afraid though with this strange behaviour regarding the cards burn-out
thing.
If you could get this senderella which is free and open source and use it
in conjuction with Paris or even make it better for Paris users that would
be a must try out project !!
Regards,
Dimitrios

Hi Dimitrios,

I'll check out sendrella to see what I can do with it. Thanks for the lead!

I'm concerned about the two dead cards. I'll email ....rali to see if I
can get any more info.

All the best,

Mike
