I've bee fine tuning my system. I was still getting some wierdness
(crackling and an occasional motorboating sound) out of my Multiface AD?DA's
when using them as I'O for external processors in Cubase SX. I had 2 x HDSP
9652's in PCI slots 2 & 3 of my mobo with the Multiface PCI in the Magma
along with the 4 x UAD cards. Nothing was sharing an IRQ with my AGP card,
but still, I need to use the Multiface AD/DA's when I mix, so I remembered
that Chris Ludwig telling me that the P750 would share an IRQ with an HDSP
card without any problem. It's not that I didn't believe him exactly, it's
just that I *never* had success with this, no matter what OS I was using,
but I needed to do something to solve this problem............soooo.......I
pulled the Multiface PCI out of the Magma, moved the RME cards so that I've
got an HDSP 9652 in PCI 1 sharing with the P750, an HDSP 9652 in PCI slot 2
and the Multiface PCI in slot 3.
The system runs better than it did when nothing was sharing with the AGP and
the noise issues with the Multiface seem to have been cured.
This si the first time I've *ever* been successful sharing an IRQ between
the AGP and an audio interface.
Go figure.
