It seems my "new" sampling rack came with very few sounds.

I can buy some of course, and have already purchased a CD which should be
on it's way. I have my eye on another. I was wondering if anybody has any
favourite libraries or sounds they use or recommend, or good places to buy
suck things.

Or if anybody has any that they could share, that would also be excellent.
I'm not asking for pirate copies of purchased disks. I was more thinking
of either samples people have made themselves or something.

But I thought it was worth asking around here in case somebody has a massive
collection of samples they want to share. I know people often keep their
sounds as their little trademark bag of tricks, so no expectations...

....just thought it was worth the question.

Apparently it takes Akai and Roland samples as well. Obviously anything can
be converted with PC software, but ASR-10 / EPS series sounds would be ideal
if anybody has advice or has some they're willing to share.

Cheers,
Kim.

That's why they call it a "Sample-r" not a "Sampleplaybacker-er".

:D

I just found a website with 1200 odd samples to play back though... :o)

Cheers,
Kim.

and is an incredibly dated sampler compatible with your goals of being a jazz
musician :-)

Hehe. It's compatible with my goal to get a new toy without spending too
much and without too big a learning curve.

And I always loved my old EPS. I'm sure there is better stuff out there than
the ASR now, but I'm also sure it's not in my budget. ;o)

I picked it up for $480 off ebay, so...

But if you must know, I loaded a little jazz demo off the one of the disks
this morning while having a play and I think that yes, it might be. ;o)

Cheers,
Kim.

Mmm... not booting is not good...

Well if you're recommending them I'll grab one next pay. I'm willing to spend
decent money on samples so long as the samples are good.

Cheers,
Kim.
