My pal Tommy Detamore recently did an interview on this web site: http://rocketsounds.com/index.php

As many of you know, Tommy runs a Paris based studio in Floresville, TX,
near San Antonio. The interviewer was apparently quite interested in Paris,
and why Tommy uses it.. Good interview, and don't forget to check out the
MP3s at the end, textbook Paris sound in the hands of a skilled engineer/producer/musician.

Tommy would be cutting the best sounding stuff
coming out of Texas regardless of the platform,
however Paris makes it sound that much better...

One fine steel player, too.

Did I mention one of the nice guys, too... :)

And don't forget to check Tommy's online examples (2nd button from left)
to listen to over two dozen full length songs.

Thanks guys...I'm proud of this one, both for myself and Paris :). A little
embarrassed though, knowing that you killer steel players have listened to
some of my hacking!

All the best to all,

Tommy

Hey Tommy, Great playing! The Paris news group could always use the company
of a pro player such as yourself. It's always good to have a pro paris user
give some insight and some tips and tricks. So drop by from time to time,
your always welcome.

I would add that I first saw a Paris system on a visit to Tommy's
studio a few years ago, and seeing and hearing that proved to be
the incentive to buy my own. What followed was email after email
from me asking for advice, how do I do this?, why doesn't this
work?... ad nauseum..

Tommy showed an amazing amount of patience for the endless
barrage of requests, and helped me immensely.

Truly a class guy, not to mention extremely talented... A nice
combination.

Man, if that is hacking, I'd be proud to be a hack... :)

It's kinda interesting that steel players have taken to the
platform--Mike Smith, who I can lay a damn good argument for
being one of the 3 best in the world--Tommy, a serious world
class player--myself, who ain;t too bad either--and Bill Terry,
who I have yet to hear, but hear good things about.

Any other players out there?????

Hey John,
You think it's because steel players probably have about the 'pickiest' ears
of anybody??? :-)

I mean a bunch of guys that can spend hours and hours debating(?) the best
way to tune your guitar can't be normal can it?
