Man, this is getting very exciting. The rig is sitting here, and I do
have an old blue/white Mac G3 to throw it into, but that doesn't get me
any closer to testing this; I still have to wait to build my XP rig.
I'm not aware of the bugs surrounding the C16 and multiple CPUs, but
will these developments effectively mean that I could have an increased
range of PCs to potentially install PARIS onto?

On PC's with a C-16 you need to limit both the EDS driver and Paris to 1 CPU.
The C-16 will lock and stop functioning till you reboot the machine.

Yes
Doing the CPU affinity stuff will make it work now on current hardware.
Having Mike fix the drivers will hopefully make so that you don't have to jump thru hopes to make it work.
Pretty much all someone would have to worry about now is whether the new motherboard has PCI slots at all
Currently 2/3 slots, next gen is gonna be 1/2. So using a EDS card plugged directly into a current Mobo will be a 1 or 2 setup at most.
You will need to use a PCI to PCI-e expansion chassis to pull of a more than 2 card system.

Well, there's no way to fix that because it's Paris' software.... and that's
ID's domain (unfortunately). However, I do have to wonder.. Mike... with
multicore as a possibility is there some way to tweak the handling of the
native plugs to be faster?

Hi Aaron,
It really depends on the PARIS app, but I suspect that the plugins will be
spread across all cores, which would be much faster. We'll have to test.
Cheers,
Mike
