Just re-read through all of Tom and Ron's troubles. Must be the season
change, or an extended moon phase sort of fx.
Started getting some crackles yesterday. Actually a sort of popping
crackle. I'd get one pop on the right channel, followed closely by another
pop in the left channel -like half a second later. No audio playing. The
system just idleing. I noticed that the longer I left the rig on the more
time between the pops, until they finally disappeared. Almost like the
system needed to warm up.
Any thoughts. Unfortunately, it feels like a hardware issue. I'm going to
reboot tonight to see if it comes back. If so, I'll try re-seating etc...
Thanks
MR

I had some weird pop/crackles issues a few years back. During playback, =
I would get a crackle, zoom into the problem area and see a crackle on =
the wav, I would close and re-open the same project and still get =
crackles on same tracks but in different locations, very strange. I =
ended up swapping my ram sticks and prob was gone. Your prob sounds more =
like heat issues or maybe bad spdif connection, clocking issues between =
MECs (BNC), box pwr supply heading south, video IRQ issues...etc
Keep us posted

Good luck
