Ok guys and gals,
I am at a point in this mix where every tweak I do just makes it sound worse.
I think that means it is about done.
I would like to save as MP3 and post for your listening enjoyment. I would
really appreciate any critisism be it good, bad or indifferent. Does anyone
have the capacity to host the MP3? Maybe I could throw it up on rapidshare
or something....

Man do I hate getting to that point, it's like sand slipping through your
fingers.
I must say what amazes me about working with old school guys, they don't
sweat the mix out so much, I remember working with a guy a few years ago
on a desk with tape and he'd have the mix amazing sounding then he'd say
fuck it, it isn't the one, zero out the faders and start again. DJ's bud
Ed Stasium (who has been involved in some of the most influential rock of
all time) told me the same thing. Don't kill yourself over it, if the song
is good and you were vibing to it, it's done. That said, I'm heading to remix
hell soon myself. Ug.

Cujo,
I have really enjoyed this mix.
It is helping me understand and get aquainted with my new mixing environment.
I will post a pic of my studio soon too. At first I tried soloing the guitars
and the vox and making EQ edits on how I thought they should fit together
like puzzle pieces. This quickly sounded like sh*t. I zeroed everything out
and for the first time ever I actually started with the vox...making minor
EQ adjustments to level it out and then bringing up the guitars. I then proceeded
to EQ the guitars with the vox playing. I have always read to avoid soloing
instruments during mixing...yet I never did it...until now.. I am very pleased
with the results. The mix came together rather quickly. I am using SIR with
a PCM90 verb.

I'm pretty jealous that you guys know and/or get (got) advice from Ed
Stasium - I've been a fan of some of his work for quite a long time.
