I've got an RME HDSP PCMCIA card here. An old Multiface or Digiface might be
on the horizon.
I need some more I/O on one of my DAWs.

Hey DJ,
Never seen anybody get one of these adapter to work with the RME card.
Sounds like you need to get it and try then... :)

but first I need to spend more money on a breakout box and cable from the
PCMCIA card and only then, spend even more money on a PCI>PCMCIA card that
may not work....right?
