I didn't want to disrespect the RIP thread with this question but I didn't
really get the reference.
SSC is uncredited on Stevie Wonder's album? I guess he Executive Produced
everything I ever recorded...

He might have been a session player......I don't know. Is there someone on
the credits named Steven Marshall by chance. That would be him.

Notice the board behind him. I asked him once what kind of board he used and
he replied that he used a custom modded Midas. I wonder if that's the sound
we're hearing in Paris..............maybe the DSP is modelled on this

Hmmmm.........I don't know.........I just noticed Dean Parks on the list of
credits. Dean and I went to high school together. We played in bands that
were under the same management in the 60's so we were often opening shows
for each other's band and for other national touring acts that came through
the Dallas area.
He was a year ahead of me in age and about a million miles ahead of me in
talent. I learned some of my first very chops from Dean. Amazing player.

Ahh. The article does say theres a Platnum Album hanging from his wall, but
dunno if that means he earned it or got it as a gift perhaps along the way.
PARIS is mint and for that I'll be grateful to him.

I have conversing with Dean a lot over the last year
as he has become a steel player this year (man, does
he adapt quick--he was playing it on several tunes on
the Crosby/Nash European tour last year after only a
few month on the instrument). I got to spend a good
deal of time with him in March at the Dallas Steel Guitar
show, and he was a joy to hang with--very humble and warm
with a lot of great stories. He is posting fairly often
on the steel forum (www.steelguitarforum.com). I'll let him
know you're around over here.... :)

I became aware of him through his work with the mighty Dan. He's all over
"Aja".
In the DVD about that album, he comes across as almost insecure, very
thoughtful and self-deprecating and almost embarassed.
If he played on that album, he must be amazing.

Wow!!!......be sure to tell him hi for me. I haven't seen him since around
1968 or thereabouts. We weren't real close pals, but he would probably
remember me. He was in a band called The Crowd Plus One. The band I was in
at the time was named the Restless Set. Great names......eh? We were managed
by the Beard Bros. management at the time and played all the "(you name it)
A Go-Go" venues back in the mid 60's in north central Texas. One of the
coolsst gigs was back in '67 when all of the Beard Bros bands got to open
for the touring acts at a big shindig in Ft. Worth at the Round Up Inn that
was sponsored by KFJZ radio. Our band opened for the Doors. Other bands
there were The Grass Roots, Standells.......and heck, I can't remember all
of 'em.....o'yeah.....who did Hang On Sloopy???....The McCoys. That
guitarist blew me away. I think it was Rick Derringer. We were all so young
back then.......and I'm so old now. the Criowd Plus One and the Restless Set
always opened for acts that they brought into their club in Ft. Worth called
"The Box" We led off for the Music Machine (Remember Talk Talk?) , The Left
Banke (Just Walk Away Renee')...etc. It was a hell of a lot of fun to be a
teenager with a guitar..

He not only played all all those great Dan records, but
there is also a pretty hefty credit that says "rhythm
arrangements by Dean Parks"...
You should do an allmusic.com search on his name--there
are 11 pages of credits (around 100/page) dating back
to the 60's--I believe his first sessions were with the
Crusaders....
