I hadn't made any changes except the hardware wordclock to 48k
for this project. When it made it into the project just once, the =
latencies were
all off. There are a bunch of UADs in use. It had played well in the =
past.
So I switched to my cloned C drive and the latencies were off there
too. ? . Does the UAD need a setting changed?
I reloaded the UAD 4.3 drivers (original latency I've been using) and =
now=20
I have all these plugins at Paris boot that can't be found, most of =
which=20
are ones I don't have authorizations for but not all. I never had to =
click=20
those away before.
After switching the clock back to 44.1 I tried other projects at 44.1 =
but they also didn't play=20
right latency wise. I also lost all my presets once I'm using the =
plugins. =20
This is across the board. =20
I rescanned them 3 times with FXpansion 3.3 but no help. I check no VST =
prefix, rescan failed plugs,=20
rescan existing plugs and I uncheck the DX question on the second page. =
I directed FXpansion
to the single folder that has all my VSTs.
Any suggestions?

Tom, the UAD latency is different for 48k than 44.1. This is true for all
versions of the UAD software. The latency hasn't chanced though,from earlier
versions of the software, unless you've changed to a different wrapper.
Don't know why your other 44.1 ppjs didn't play at the right latency though.
On the FXpansion wrapper....unless you add/update stuff in EXACTLY the right
method, you will loose your presets. The way you described what you did.....you
would have lost them.
Sounds like when you tried going back to 4.3 everything went haywire. The
best bet is to totally un install the UAD and re-install it, unless you have
a previous ghost image (I hope you do), then just re ghost.

Paris nudge-to-AnalogX Sampleslide ratios will change.=20

Rod,
I could have sworn we had this conversation a month ago and with UAD =
version 4.4
my latency changed and you agreed. At that time, I went back to 4.3 and =
all was better.
Have you been using 4.4 or 4.5 with all the same settings?
Now out of the blue, latency is different (I haven't figured out to =
what). I lost all
my presets to all my plugins. C drive #1 still has them but paris =
wasn't acting right
and crashing when loading two different projects.
Can you enlighten me on exactly the right method with the the wrapper? =20
Don't check rescan existing plugs?=20
Also where are they exactly so I can copy them from C drive 1 to 2.
When I switched to C drive #2 (UAD ver 4.4) the latency was different. =
C drive #1
had been working fine until last night at both sample rates. Maybe my =
wordclock
is screwy.
Maybe because the presets are gone Sampleslide is not set correctly? I =
use it for
less than 100 samples using my method and latency is like 300ms+ =
different now.

says the Farichild
mono and EX M plug is not installed. To defeat this, install 4.5 again, specifying
a folder
other than the correct folder (you will delete it later) and select the "install
mono versions"
box. Go into the mono folder that's in the folder you chose, copy the Fairchild
and EX-M DLL's
(there the only ones that don't have the word (mono) in parenthisis) and
copy them to the
correct folder. Then delete the bogus folder, or the UAD dll's. I use the
steinberg/vst folder,
since that's what it defaults to, and that's not what I use normally. You
don't have to do
this, but if the error messages bug you (they do me) you can. The mono versions
don't work
correctly in Paris, but it keeps the error screen from popping up.

tried to find it and I can't. Somewhere in the registry. I emailed Angus
at fxpansion and that's all I got out of him. Maybe someone smarter than
me can figure that out.

Hey Rod,
Thanks for all the pointers! I do still have a drive with the presets =
although
it was being finicky. I'm thinking the external clock setting was =
causing this.
Not sure why. =20
I screwed up my clone drive with the new drivers and presets being lost.
I'll go back to the original C and make sense of that. Not sure what I =
can
do except boot normally at 48k and go from there. It was having a real =
hard
time getting into this project though. There must have been a reason.
I'll keep you posted but please chime in if you have any suggestions for =
me.

presets...I don't know of anyway to get them back,<BR>unless you have =
a ghost=20
image of your C drive.<BR><BR>Also the UAD plugs get told what sample =
rate to=20
operate at when they're iniated<BR>in the ppj vst slot. Soooo, if you =
reset=20
the clock back to 44.1 from 48,<BR>you need to get rid of the UAD =
plugs and=20
re-introduce them so they know what<BR>sample rate to work=20
at.<BR><BR>Also...when you say you reset the hardware clock...are you =
talking=20
about<BR>an external clock??? If so you also need to set Paris at the =
proper=20
clock<BR>rate to match the external clock.<BR><BR>In other words, if =
you have=20
the external clock set to 44.1, but have the<BR>Paris project window =
set to=20
48k, even though it will run at 44.1, the UAD<BR>plugs will think it's =
at 48k=20
and things will get ALL JACKED UP. (been there,<BR>don that)<BR><BR>Is =
