Tonight I started playing back some audio with the Creamware hardware for
the first time. I opened up a template in the Creamware patchbay and started
playing back a track in Wavelab. It was one of those *holyshit!!!* moments.
I had heard this track many times (I remastered it) and I was sitting there
listening to it through the creamware card thinking, "man, this sounds
great!!!...what's up. Then I started looking around in the patchbay template
and discovered that the PsyQ and Optimaster plugins were part of this
template. These FX are *very good* We're talking UAD-1 level stuff here,
maybe better, as far as these two particular plugins are concerned.
I don't know why but I didn't expect this for some reason. I'm still waiting
on a couple of stragglers that haven't shown up yet in order to complete the
wiring in of the studio, but the first impressions of the Creamware
mastering plugs are very positive.

It would be worth it to buy one of these cards just for the reverbs. This is
top shelf stuff. I'm not kidding. These are in the same basic league with my
Lexi PCM 91. Now I know why Dimtrios was willing to sell me his Roland
R-880. He had a Pulsar so he didn't need it anymore.....LOL!!! I'm sorta
floored by what I'm hearing here.

I will get around to it next week. I've got this thing patched into a Paris
vocal track right now routing via ADAT applying the Vinco (stands for
"vintagecomp", no doubt, and looks a bit 1176'ish) on an insert. No audible
latency at all. Has the ability to get sort of LA-2A'ish or 1176'ish
depending on whether your are using it in Peak or RMS mode.....and no
latency.....did I mention that?

Right now I've got things routed to where I'll be able to apply 8 of the
Creamware FX as plugins "per Paris submix" over 4 x submixes and I'll be
able to use the Creamware reverb, my Lexi PCM 91, Quantec and Roland R-880
on any rack across the 4 x submixes by using an RME ADI4 DD and
daisychaining in and out of an adat module in each MEC.....or at least I
will be as soon as the D-Sub - 4 x AES cable for it shows up.
